Mind maps made by hand are memorable, colorful and powerful based on history in order to represent information and ideas to oneself and to other people. Nevertheless, there are still others who consider mind mapping by hand a thing of the past. Why? Because of the thought that mind maps made manually are easily scratched off.

The Stress of Pregnancy

It may be the most important moment of your life—the moment that you learn that you’re pregnant, or you find out that your wife is pregnant. It is a moment of infinite possibilities. You wonder whether your child will grow up to be the next Mozart or the next Marie Curie. You go through baby name books endlessly, wondering what to call your bundle of joy. You go to the paint store, hoping to pick out just the right shade for your child’s nursery. You register at a baby merchandise store, hoping to get just what you need for your baby shower.

However, while it can be a time of unbridled joy, pregnancy may also be a period of intense stress. You may be worried about the weight gain associated with pregnancy. Or you may be wondering whether your baby will be healthy. You may be anxious about your finances, especially if they weren’t good before the news of your baby’s arrival. You may also be wondering how your relationship with your spouse will change as a result of the pregnancy. You may even be wondering how your relationship with your parents will be altered as a result of your new baby. You may also be worried about the experience of childbirth and the amount of pain involved.

Most importantly, you might be stressed out about the responsibilities of parenthood. You may be wondering how good a mother or a father you’ll make. You may be wondering whether you’ll be a good provider, a good comforter, a good disciplinarian. You might be wondering about feeding schedules and middle-of-the-night diaper changes.

All of these worries are natural. However, it is important that your worries do not cause you intolerable anxiety. There are specific steps you can take to lessen the stress of pregnancy. If you hope to make the transition to parenthood as smooth as possible, it’s critical that you follow these simple relaxation techniques.

To begin with, it can be helpful to take a childbirth class. Even if you aren’t contemplating natural childbirth, such classes provide a wealth of information—information that can help put your mind at ease. You’ll receive information about how to have a healthy pregnancy, about proper diet for the prospective mother, about the process of childbirth, and about the care and feeding of your baby.

In addition, childbirth classes often provide you with information about relaxation techniques. These include not only breathing exercises, but imagery exercises that can help soothe your nerves. The good thing is that you’ll be going through the relaxation exercises with your partner, so you can both receive the benefit of them. Many childbirth educators encourage practicing these relaxation exercises right before you go to bed at night, so you can learn how to relax your muscles right before you try to go to sleep.

It may also be a good idea to attend La Leche League meetings during your pregnancy if you intend to breast-feed. Breast-feeding can be a daunting experience for a new mother, so you’ll want to get all the information you can about the process. The La Leche League meetings also put you in touch with experienced breast-feeding mothers who can help to coach you through the rough times. Some groups also provide a phone list that you can consult whenever you need advice—anytime of the day or night.

If you’re experiencing a great deal of pregnancy-related stress, it is also important that you discuss it with your obstetrician. He or she might have additional recommendations for you, as far as coping techniques are concerned. He or she can also let you know whether your stress is affecting your baby, which can be critically important in putting your mind at ease.

Pregnancy can and should be a joyous time. However, there is little doubt that there is a great deal of stress involved in the process. The more informed you are about pregnancy and childbirth, the better able you will be to cope. Seeking out other mothers and fathers during this critical time can also be important for your emotional well-being. By relying on other people for support, you can reduce your stress level significantly and truly enjoy the latter stages of your pregnancy.

Facial Body Language

I can share stories of facial body language that stir within me strong emotions both good and bad. I’m thirty four years old now. After many years of working directly with people, I have sharpened my interpersonal skills. I have gotten really good at reading peoples body language, especially when it comes to their facial expressions.

Understanding body language does require learning, practice, and experience. I remember when I was a young teenager. A girl invited me to her house during our school lunch break. Her parents were not home and we ate lunch together. Before it was time to leave for school again, she called me into her bedroom. She stood there looking radiant. Her eyes had a glow, they seemed wide and darker. I smiled and felt totally connected with her. Years later, I now realize that her body language especially her facial body language, were giving me cues and signs that she wanted our relationship to be physical. If I only knew, what I know now.

I’m really grateful to God that I can understand facial body language in the work place. There have been times with my superiors when they would say something with their words, but their facial body language was telling me something different. In one meeting, my supervisor asked me questions that I truthfully answered. She remained silent but I noticed her nose pinching up and she would look away to her right. This facial body language told me she didn’t believe me. I was able to point out that it didn’t seem she believed me. This opened the door for her to share her opinion and feelings. Otherwise, she would have never told me exactly how she felt; allowing friction to build up between us.

In one of my meetings with a subordinate, I could tell the person was burning out and tired. I would give him opportunities to share how he feels and what he thought he needed to be refreshed. Instead, he displayed denial in his facial expressions. He was too proud to admit to his tiredness. I explained I could tell by his face that he was both tired and in denial about his energy level at work. I gave him some time off and asked him to consider a different position in the company. He gladly accepted and also thanked me for being a good leader.

Understanding facial body language has also helped me tremendously at home. Observing what my wife and children are really saying or feeling with their faces has helped me be a better husband and father. They often tell me they appreciate my sensitivity and empathy in talking and working with them.

I remember my wife adamantly saying she was fine after a phone call with her sister one day. But I could tell with her sullen face and frown that something did not go well. I encouraged her to talk about it, which she did. This helped her feel a lot better of course. Some husbands or friends would’ve dismissed her sullen face and frown for a bad day or too pre occupied with their own lives to care. Understanding facial body language helps one be a better person.

Depression and Anger

Depression and anxiety is said to be the cause of uncontrolled anger. When a person is constantly worry about things they have no control over or even have control over it often causes depression. If you feel that, there is no hope your sad emotion will implode on your life and cause you to sink into a whirl of chaos. Taking control of your emotions produces good results. If you feel that the world is crumbling down then you are probably thinking negative, which instigates depression and anxiety. In this article, we will discuss some techniques to help you cope with anxiety, depression, thus relieving uncontrolled anger. First, let us take a look at your symptoms. Do you feel like you are going out of your mind? Do you shout in your head I cannot take it anymore? Do you feel like someone is out to get you? Do you think people view you as a crazy person? If you are suffering any one or all of these symptoms or thoughts then you are in the process of suffering anxiety and depression. If you do not find a way to think differently then you will probably explode when your emotions soar and your anger bursts. Instead, of telling yourself that you are out of your mind, why not tell yourself that you are emotionally interrupted and need a resolve. Review all the problem areas carefully and search your database to see if there are answers to your problems. Reviewing often opens doors to resources you may have overlooked. If you feel like someone is out to get you then you might have a chemical imbalance or a mental illness. Why not visit your doctor or a mental health expert to learn more about your symptoms and find a way to gain control of your life. Anxiety and depression will play tricks with your mind and sometimes the thoughts are a result of a chemical imbalance. If you believe, people think you are crazy you might want to remember that most people have their own problems and have no time to analyze you as a person. When you walk into a room and think that people are staring at you, you might want to remember that people observe things around them, making sure everything is ok and then return to their own lives. If you feel like you cannot take it anymore, pick up your torture stick and walk another mile. When times are difficulty it does not mean it is the end of the world although sometimes it may seem this way. If you are struggling to pay bills, fighting to hold a family together, or having difficulty with your children then remember we all have this problem at some time in our lives. Are your children driving you nuts? If they are, take a break. Go do something entertaining or exercise. This often relieves stress that leads to anxiety, depression and anger. Life is too short to worry about the things you have or do not have control over. If you have problems, the answers are within you so it pays to review your mind. If you are struggling to reach goals then you might want to break your goals down to smaller segments and work slowly to achieve. If you set goals within reason, you will not need to stress your mind finding a way to achieve your target. It is important to pamper your self each day. Learn some coping relaxation response techniques that benefit both your mind and body. If you feel overwhelmed, you might want to inhale and exhale breaths for up to 10 counts. Curling up on a couch and watching a favorite movie can benefit your mind and body if you are letting your thoughts go. Learn to focus on what you are doing instead of worrying about what you are not doing. This often clears the mind and helps you to relax. If you subject your self to anger, you will most likely have difficulties for the remaining of your life until you learn to take control of your emotions. Remember depression leads to uncontrolled anger.

Goals Require Work and Time Management

Any single goal requires hard work and properly constructed time management schemes to work in harmony in an effort to achieve our dreams. When you are diverting a plan to meet your goal then you need to work a time management solution that runs smoothly and consistently. I am going to include an example of a faulty time management scheme and an over-your-head goal agreement:

According to Business Week Online: “SEP. 24 2:32 P.M. ET File bankruptcy now — before the law changes! That’s the message — or exhortation — that attorneys are making across the country, in TV commercials, print ads and mailings, urging Americans to seek bankruptcy court protection before a new law makes it harder for them to walk away from their debts.

Debtors are responding. Counting down toward the Oct. 17 effective date for the biggest reform in U.S. bankruptcy law in a generation, personal bankruptcy filings have jumped this month to the highest on record. Filings averaged more than 9,000 per day, up roughly 50 percent from last year’s average daily volume, during the first two weeks of September.” The statistics says that this “number is climbing’ before the deadline.

Is this your goal in the next ten years? If not then you had better get to work committing yourself to the requirements (which include hard work) in order to achieve your goals. Time slips from our hands, and if we are not monitoring our time carefully, then time and money is lost. Today, it takes two people to meet one goal. However, if we are single, it is possible to move ahead with less effort than we realize. For example, you can cut back your time by doing your work on time. You can also make a wise decision and get a job that pays you the money that you deserve in sink with your skills. There are many decisions when it comes to managing time, and no decision should be left out. In the course of ten years, anything can happen. We can lay out a well-constructed plan that seems bullet proof, but suddenly everything changes when we did not calculate all aspects of life into that plan. Now, the percentage of bankruptcies is often a direct result of negligence in time management. Some of these people most likely failed to add and subtract disaster in their time management plan, while others may have took for granted their achievements and went on a spending binge. Whatever the reason, someone did not put work and time management in proper force.

When we plan to achieve goals, we should look at our selves foremost, and then move onto other requirements that support our goals reach. Knowing our selves first can help us to see if we are lacking in one area, and which area of our being is the strongest. Time management schemes help us to reach goals, by keeping us motivated. If we are lacking motivation (it takes work to stay motivated during the process of reaching your goal), then we need a solution. Starting with knowing our selves is the first step to setting goals, achieving goals, and setting up a time management scheme that works. Once we come over this obstacle, we next move to planning to reach our goals. We start with WORK and Critical THINKING! One of the best tools in our lives is education since it directs us in the right path to success. If you are lacking education and skills and your goal is out in left field, you know that you need to improve. Starting a business is never easy. It takes time, effort and money. If you do not have these three ingredients, your goal is cooked. Therefore, you need to set up a budget, savings, and monitor your time carefully to meet your goals expectations. There are many ways to make money and save money. All we need is the knowledge, skills and the willingness to achieve. Now, if you are looking at the picture in this article, in the next ten years if you don’t plan to struggle with the law to file bankruptcy, then you better get the ball rolling now and work hard every single day; while you carefully lay out a plan that helps you reach your goals.
