Showing Friendship through Body Language

Finding a friend is often a mysterious process that seems to happen almost as if by magic. You meet them, see them in different situations, and somehow you end up being lifelong friends. Sometimes you can foster friendship and help to sustain it by using good body language.

When you are open to friendship, you might indicate that by showing an open palm or sitting with your legs apart. It is always important to maintain good eye contact with someone you are being friendly with. Just don’t stare at them.

In fact, you can attend to a person by focusing on that person with your ears, your eyes, and your body. You can also show them your feelings through your body language. You can project interest in them by tilting your head when they speak. Look at them in an alert and interested way.

Sometimes, just by spending time with a person, you are automatically giving them body language cues that you are willing to be friends. Show signs that you are listening to them and you will have a better chance at friendship.

Once you have established something of a friendship through body language and conversation, you can allow yourself to get even closer to the friend. Friends often stand close together. They will sometimes touch casually on the hand or arm. Men like to pat each other on the arm or give each other playful punches.

Empathy is an important aspect of friendship. If your friend can’t identify with your feelings, you might not feel that they’re very valuable as a friend. To have this value, you need to show empathy in your body language.

You can do this by leaning in when the person is speaking of matters of importance to them. Show your emotions through your body language. Laugh, smile, cry, or touch when it seems right. Hug them if it seems comfortable, but follow their body language cues to determine if it makes them feel anxious.

If you have made a friend, you will be happy with the experience. Yet, you can never neglect your friendship and assume it will always be the same. It’s up to you to send your friend the right body language signals to let them know they are still appreciated and cared for.

In studies, it has been shown that kids with learning disabilities have a hard time maintaining friendships. They can make friends easily. Yet, when the friend interacts with them on a daily basis, they have trouble understanding the friend’s body language. This leads to hurt feelings and ultimately to a loss of the friendship. If you are to avoid this pitfall, you must pay attention to your friend’s body language.

Body language can help you make a friend and help you to understand your friend better. By knowing about body language, you can use it to help you maintain a good relationship with your friend. Knowing body language and using it can be the difference between having an acquaintance and truly having a friend.

Emotions Flaring and Anger out of Control

When emotions are, flaring then we are subject to deal with uncontrolled anger. Anger is an emotion that we all deal with. Some of us handle problems assertively while others are aggressive. Anger either makes our life successful or makes our life miserable. If you are an angry person, you might want to get help, since your life is subject to chaos. Anger management offers great courses to angry people helping them to cope with their emotions. The psychotherapists will help you to get in touch with your emotions by talking through the clutters in your mind. You will enjoy a group of people similar to your self and listen to the many problems these people face every day. When you are socializing and hearing problems others face you might find that your problem is not as big as it seemed. Problems are solvable and anger management can teach you to find resources that help you to deal with your problems. Triggers often interrupt emotions causing anger to surface. Anger management classes are designed and ready to help you to understand your triggers, how to avoid them, and how to deal with them when they erupt. If you are subject to anger, you can look back at the many problems you faced to see how you dealt with them, and what the consequences of your anger were. If you see that your consequences are succeeding your anger problems then you know that you will need a new course in life. Review the situations individually to see if there was something, you could have changed during the action. Review the problem to see if something you did added to your burden. After you are done reviewing and see that your anger caused more problems for you then you can learn some techniques that help you to cope with your emotions and reduce your problems. An effective approach is dealing with diaphragmatic breathing. If you are hyperactive ventilating when you are angry you are only intensify the situation. Therefore, you must learn breathing techniques that help control your breathing. When you feel worried, stressed, and angry it is helpful to slow down a take a few deep breaths before dealing with the problem. You might want to consider your thinking. If you feel that one problem leads to another and there is nothing short of surviving through the issues then you are a negative thinker. Sure, one problem can lead to another problem. If you prepare your self for by including resources and searching your mind, you might see a way out of the problems as they occur. Let us take a look at a woman that has a series of problems and see how she manages the problems. The woman has a teenage child and was living in a dangerous environment, which included criminal behaviors. The woman knew she had to remove her child and self from this environment, yet she knows she does not have enough funds to rent another home. Therefore, she is homeless once she leaves the environment. Rather than floundering in her emotions, she takes control and calls a friend asking for help. The friend comes as quickly as possible and provides her child and self a temporarily home. She knows that she has to move from this environment soon, so she reviews her mind and considers all resources available to her. Now, she has pride and a making a little money through her own home business but she calls the Department of Social Services and explains her situation. The program instructs her to find a home within her means and then contact them as soon as the place is available. She is told that she will be placed on an emergency list for the homeless and now has hope that her problems will reduce. Now, before she left the first environment there was a violent outburst from the first party. Instead of retaliating, she controlled her anger and walked past the woman without speaking a word. Now if she had retaliated she would be in jail since the woman owned the home where she stayed and then she would have a bigger problem than homeless. When emotions are flaring and anger is out of control stay in charge!

Time Managing in a Diverse Society

Our society consists of all types of people with traditional beliefs, modern ways, structure, gender, roles, class, and occupations and so on. To create a time management scheme that works we have to consider many factors, since we are involved with other people all the time. Often our world has hidden messages, as well as obvious resources that help us to see where we are going with our plans. The best solution then for setting up a time management scheme is finding out first if your goals are obtainable and what information is available that can help us to achieve our goals. When we set short and long-term goals, we have to include many factors into the scheme. For example, if you see your self in five years living in the beautiful state of Colorado on the mountain, in a log cabin. What plans do you need to lay out that can help you reach this goal, and what actions do you need to take to reach this goal? It should be obvious that you will need financial resources to achieve this goal. Therefore, in your time management plans you will need to include a financial savings that will help you to achieve this goal in five years. Sometimes we can meet our five-year goals, so we may have to include setbacks in the plan and how we can divert another strategy to achieve our goal. Financial obligations such as house payments, car payments, college tuitions, bills, and so on are obstacles and responsibilities that can delay our ability to achieve this goal. In your time management scheme you want to include budgeting then since if you want this goal you will have to make sacrifices.

Budgeting

IF you do not already have a car, and plan to purchase a car…do you need an expensive car? Expensive cars cost more for maintenance and often are just a mechanism for showy displays. Why not save yourself some expense and purchase a car that offers economical savings, as well as low maintenance costs. Insurance and car payments on expensive cars are also higher than economical cars. If you are paying $700-$800 per month for a car payment, and making payments on high rated insurance polices, you are spending a thousand you ordinarily wouldn’t spend if you made a wiser decision. Since the system is diverse many of us try to keep up with the ‘Smith and Jones,” failing to realize that we are who we are. In addition, if you have a home mortgage and paying $700 per month, is it possible you had the mortgage long enough that you could take out another loan that provides resources for vacation packages, lower interest rates, lower mortgage payments, overpayments or underpayment plans? This will help you to repay your mortgage sooner if you make a wise decision and not jump into another commitment spontaneously. If you cut back on your expenses, you will see that you have more money to save for the short-term goal you planned in your time management strategy. If you are spending $150-$200 per month for groceries, is it possible you could buy cheaper produces and products to cut back on your spending? What about your selection or attire? Are you buying clothes to impress or to dress? There are many second-hand stores, rummages, and other sources that offer very nice looking clothes that are affordable. If you don’t want second-hand, there are stores that offer low cost attire and often the garments are brand names. Don’t let this diverse world influence you to spend more than you make. If you are spending money on course to obtain a long-term goal, it is important to cut back on expenses since tuitions are often high. Then, we can see that sacrifices are a part of time management as much as realizing that we all are different and have our own budgets. Unless you are a rich individual that can obtain your short and long-term goals right now, you will have to learn sacrificing traits in order to achieve your goals. Time is just as important as money, so if you are investing a lot of your time in sports and entertainment and not making money doing it, then you need to sit back and find a solution to increase your time on important areas that lead you to your goal, rather than wasting time.

Michael Dell

Michael Dell is the 42nd richest person in the world and the founder and CEO of the computer company Dell, Inc. His net worth is $16.4 billion USD.

Michael Dell was born February 23, 1965, in Houston, Texas. His father was an orthodontist. Michael had no formal education beyond high school; however, as a child he showed an unusual aptitude with both computers and entrepreneurship. His first computer experience was when he took apart and reassembled his Apple ][ computer at age 15, just to see if he could do it. As for business, he sold subscriptions to the Houston Post newspaper. Many kids go into the newspaper business; few of them discover an untapped customer base by marketing to newlyweds who are just moving in together and, as a result, earn $18,000 which buy them a BMW and a new computer. Michael Dell had that kind of eye for marketing.

Michael Dell did attend at the University of Texas at Austin, but while there, with just $1000 start-up money he started his own computer business, called “PC’s Limited”, running it literally out of his dorm room. In the year 1984 at age 19, his family extended his $300,000 investment capital and he dropped out of the University to run his computer business full-time, first as PC’s Limited, then as Dell Computer Corporation, and finally as Dell, Inc.

He found that assembling computers and selling them directly to the customer allowed him to be more in touch with the customer’s needs. He allowed customers to check from a list of options and then built the PC custom-made on the spot, a tradition still evident in the practices of the company today. In 1985, Dell launched the first computer of its own design, the Turbo PC, which retailed for under $800 and ran an Intel 8088-compatible processor running at a speed of 8 MHz. They advertised in industry magazines and the Turbo PC became popular for the cheapest possible computer with the most “bang for the buck” at the time. How successful was this strategy? The first year they made $73 million gross.

The company assumed the name of Dell Computer Corporation by 1988. Dell was simply in the right place at the right time when the PC revolution hit, and the business branched out into international markets in just four years. By 1992, Fortune magazine listed Dell in the list of the world’s 500 largest companies. By 1996, Dell was first to tap the Internet commerce sphere by selling computers directly through its website. By 1999, Dell had overtaken Compaq, its chief competitor, to become the leading seller of personal computers in the United States.

In the year 2000, Michael Dell again took the role of the industry’s innovator by doing something first suggested by Ralph Nader: offering PCs with an alternative operating system, specifically the Linux system. This reflected the rise of the people’s open-source OS as the new preferred choice, in what has been a growing demand for Linux ever since.

However, the effort to market Linux quickly folded. It has since come to light that Microsoft, makers of Windows, put pressure on Dell to stop selling Linux, in spite of the anti-trust conviction against Microsoft. According to the case of “Joe Comes, et al vs Microsoft Corporation”, 2006, the testimony of Microsoft executive Joachim Kempin revealed to the public his plan of retaliation and coercion to shut down competition from Linux. He stated that he had thought of “hitting the OEM harder than in the past with anti-Linux actions.” and that he would “further try to restrict source code deliveries where possible and be less gracious when interpreting agreements — again without being obvious about it.”

Since then, Dell, Inc. has made many attempts to market Linux computers without being black-balled out of the market by Microsoft, which abuses its position as a monopoly to threaten to withdraw Microsoft licenses from computer manufacturers. Michael Dell’s preferred Linux system is the popular Ubuntu. His strategy to dodge around Microsoft’s tactics is currently to offer a bare computer without any software and a boxed Linux software kit, after which time the company will send a technician to the customer’s home to install the software. That is how badly Dell wants to give his customers what they want.

Michael Dell today still resides in Austin, Texas with his wife, Susan, and their four children. Dell, Inc., has branched out into other technology products besides computers, but computers are still their main product. Dell’s savvy advertising message, including the “Dude, you’re getting a Dell!” commercials and the ads with the slogan “The computer is personal again.” ensure that they will remain a heavy player in the PC market for some time to come.
